CVR(T) display was a highlight for many

Trabant and Heinkel wait at Check- point Charlie to cross to the West

Christina Dawson with the Check- point Charlie sign. Her mother, Inge, grew up in Germany, came to England soon after the war, married an English man and settled in Kettering. To visit their family, they regularly went through Checkpoint Charlie and visited Wicksteed at War to see if we got the details correct. Fortunately, they were very impressed with the accuracy. They both said how frightening it was going through the checkpoint and how the Russian guards made life very difficult for them.
